The Visioning Labs are participatory processes conducted for the project VERVE between Spring and Autumn 2024.
The Labs aimed to:
- Explore regenerative visions for the future of Belluno Province in the Italian North-Eastern Alps;
- Test future thinking methods in rural-mountain areas, applicable to various European contexts (and share the results in a forthcoming Toolkit).
Two Labs were conducted, each spanning two days:
- Spring 2024 Lab: This Lab focused on the regeneration of a remote valley near Mount Grappa, exploring biocultural diversity initiatives and their future directions;
- October 2024 Lab: This Lab delved into the regeneration of ValBelluna from gender, feminist, and plural perspectives.
Each Lab was designed to:
- Provide a safe space for individual and collective reflection;
- Facilitate a structured and creative process for mobilizing and sharing ideas and visions;
- Offer a formative opportunity to develop future literacy;
- Explore the regeneration of socio-ecological systems from plural and inclusive perspectives;
- Foster alliance-building and strategic planning.
More information about the Labs and related outputs will be soon published on this page.
The Council of All Beings
What would the world look like if we were a forest, an owl, or even a pond?
How would we understand the connections between everything, thinking about the health of the planet?
The workshop, titled “L’assemblea degli esseri: umani, animali e ambiente in dialogo”, was held during the Festival “Cansiglio InVita”, organized by the University of Padua and Società Selvatica, in September 2024. Participants included experts from diverse disciplines (e.g. veterinary sciences, human health, forest ecology, etc.) and people from the public, who voluntarily decided to join. The conversations, taking the perspective of various beings, sparked innovative ideas about “One Health” and the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental well-being.
